Visit to Zambia
This is on the 2-13/2-27 September

Location:  Zambia

The visit will build on the relationship that is now well established by CA with people, congregations, schools and communities in Eastern Diocese. The group will be based at St Francis Hospital, Katete, where some work will be undertaken on the redecoration of the well-used Outpatients’ Department. There may be some additional work alongside the Anglican community as they build their first church in Katete township.  Instead or as well as the physical work, there will be the opportunity to engage in church and pastoral work with local Christians and to visit self-help projects, funded by UK and other churches. This aspect of the visit will be led by Rev Anne Legge. All participants will be able to join any of these activities, as they wish. No specific skills are needed, other than an open mind and a willingness to meet and work alongside local people.

The departure date is 2 September 2012.  One group will return to the UK on 13 September, while the other group will stay until 28 September. Those going on the longer trip will spend 3 days at South Lwangwa Nature Reserve, where they will see an amazing array of wildlife. There will be the opportunity for those who would like to extend their stay, prior to or after the visit, to visit Livingstone and Victoria Falls by organising their own itinerary. Help, advice and guidance for this is willingly offered by Mike Capel leader of CA groups in 2007 and 2009.

The group will fly from Heathrow direct to Lusaka and then travel by road to Katete and Lwangwa
