13-24 September - A Visit to Israel/Palestine.
Led by Rev Andrew Ashdown. Shared visit with Wider Horizons. www.wider-horizons.org
There will be
encounters with prophets and peacemakers, past and present, meetings with
Palestinians and Israelis, and with church leaders. The visit includes
time spent in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, Haifa and Nazareth.
2011 28 February - 7 March - Pilgrimage for Peacemaking. Visit to Japan. Led by Michael Ipgrave. Bishop Gabriel Igarashi will be hosting a group of 6-8 visitors. The programme will include family visits in Fukuoka, 2 nights in a pilgrim centre and 2 nights in Nagasaki. The focus on reconciliation and peacemaking will be shared with Japanese friends. 14-18 March - Visit to Krakow & Auschwitz, Poland. Led by Rev Andrew Ashdown. Shared visit with Wider Horizons. www.wider-horizons.org 4 days in Poland combining an exploration of 20th century history both at Auschwitz and the beautiful city of Krakow, where there will be a walking tour of the Jewish Quarter, and visits to some wonderful monuments to Poland's varied and often difficult history. 19-29 March - Visit to Zululand. Led by Amy Glover. This visit to the heart of the Zulu Kingdom will focus on community building. The challenge is to be with people to share their hopes and distress from within the HIV crisis.
August - Visit to Zambia. Led by Lee Brant and Adrian Harris. September - Visit to Syria. Led by Stephen Griffith 25-31 October - Visit to Qatar. Hosted by Bill Schwartz of the Church of the Epiphany in Doha. 20 October - 1 November - Visit to Ghana. Led by Rev Andrew Ashdown. Shared visit with Wider Horizons. www.wider-horizons.org The visit will include visiting villages, schools and clinics, learning about environmental issues through a visit to the rainforest and cocoa and palm oil plantations, meeting and worshipping with local Christians and learning about the life of the church. We will also visit 2 of the world’s most important slave forts and remember the slave trade. We will also visit some of the most important natural, cultural and historic sites in West Africa. November - Visit to New Zealand. A visit to Taizé is also being planned. 2012 January/February - Visit to South India with Subash Chellaiah and Ruth Subash. Visits will be made to the Vineyard Children's Home (subject of 2010 Lent appeal) in Tamil Nadu and the Henry Martyn Institute in Hyderabad to strengthen our links with them. We will also go to Chennai as part of the trip. April - Visit to Assisi. Led by +John Flack. August - Visit and workcamp in Kenya. Led by Barbara Butler. This will be based in Naro Moru in the Diocese of Western Kenya. The project will be to share the building of small chalets as part of a residential conference centre. The hosts will be members of the diocese and home visits and a safari will be included. October - Visit to Lebanon. Led by Rev Andrew Ashdown. Shared visit with Wider Horizons.www.wider-horizons.org Visit to Rajasthan with Daniel and Judith Ramble.
