Ongoing fund raising project  can you help?

Sponsored walk in aid of the Mar Thoma Orphanage (Ashram) in Kerala, part of             

SAC-CCC (South Asia Council for Children/Community in Crisis)

We will also be sponsoring Lister girls home for 25 girls aged 10-17. Individual sponsorship from £20 a month is possible. We would like to arrange for each girl to have one (or two sharing the monthly cost) sponsor so that nobody is left out. The home is close to the Mar Thoma Ashram so we will be able to visit both in future and give them our very much needed support. Please contact the office if you are interested.

Subscriptions

Members may attract new members.  Members receive the magazine and annual report, together with news of resources and events.

The office is ready to provide the new introductory leaflets, magazines and other literature as an aid to introducing Christians Aware to churches, communities and individuals.

Gift Aid

This is a good  way for members and friends who are taxpayers to give to Christians Aware.  If donors pay income tax every donation can give the charity an extra 28p in the pound.  Subscriptions qualify as donations.

Donations:

Donations are given by individuals, churches and grant making trusts.

We have stickers available from the office to put around jars to enable people to save their small change, or for use as a container to collect money at a fund raising event.

Fund Raising Events

Hold a celebration meal in aid of one of our projects! 

CA relies on members and friends to hold coffee mornings, bring and buy sales, and other events.  Such support is a big encouragement.  Not only is financial support very welcome but the events mean that more people know about our work.  The office is always ready to provide leaflets and exhibitions.

Sponsored walks are held annually.  They offer good exercise in beautiful countryside.  The office has forms for those who wish to hold their own sponsored walks or events in their own areas.

Christmas Cards

The office has Christmas Cards for sale of  multi-cultural and traditional original designs by artists from around the world.  The cards are offered in packs of 10 with envelopes.   Packs of assorted design cards from earlier years can be bought at a reduced price of £1.00 per pack of 10. Postage and packing is charged at 80p per pack (if you would like to buy a large amount of cards please contact the office about reduced postage costs). Blank cards of different designs are also available.

From this year there will be a new wide range of all sorts of cards so please look out for them!

Calendar

Our Christmas Journeys calendar for this year covers the 12 days before Christmas and 12 days afterwards. It has been compiled by the same design team as our very successful Advent Calendar. It costs £6 and is available from the office.

Notelets

We have two different styles available both in packs of 8 different designs - also available individually for 30p each - (all with envelopes). The first are black and white drawings of Leicestershire and Rutland by the late Doris Whitworth at £2.50 per pack. The second are colour paintings by Najwa Farah, a Palestinian artist living in Canada, at £3.00 per pack.

Colouring book

Beate Dehnen, one of our artist members, has designed a wonderful Christmas colouring book for children with original bold designs for even the youngest to enjoy.  The book is on paper that will accept most crayons or pens, even paints if you wish! We are selling them for £1.00 each and will be happy to supply multiple copies to Christmas fairs and schools.

We are grateful to those who remember the charity in their wills.  A legacy leaflet is available from the office.
